Has Professor Hauxwell Lost Control?
One wonders with all that is going on up at Hogwarts, if Professor Salem Hauxwell has lost control over her students. It has come to this reporter’s attention that the Headmistress was not in attendance at the Winter Ball the evening in which the tragedy broke out. Had she attended the ball, perhaps the incident involving Ravenclaws Saraid Cullen, Tristan Cale and Aiden Riley; and Slytherins Warren Banks, Brand Thanewulf and Kizuna Matsumoto.
This reporter’s source has revealed that she witnessed the entire event first hand. Could it be true that the fight was truly over a girl? It seems as though Saraid Cullen was the center of attention between her date Warren Banks and Tristan Cale that fateful evening, but it wasn’t either of those boys that started the fight, no. From the eyewitness accounts Mr. Banks, Mr. Cale and Miss Cullen were attempting to resolve the situation in a civilized manner.
The first punch was thrown by none other than Brand Thanewulf, the son of Harrison Thanewulf, the Ministry of Magic’s Chief Prosecutor. It seemed to spiral out of control after that when Mr. Banks and Mr. Cale began to fight over the red headed Irish girl. The handsome young Thanewulf was defending his friend when Mr. Riley decided to join in and defend his. Miss Matsumoto’s involvement in the situation was minimal.
When I attempted to schedule an interview with Mr. Thanewulf’s secretary to obtain a statement regarding his son’s involvement in the matter, I was quickly denied an interview. Every attempt was also made to reach Mr. Bank’s and Mr. Cale’s parents as well but they were unavailable for comment. It seems the only Guardian that was willing to speak with us was Niamh Cullen who also happens to be the Professor of Muggle Studies at Hogwarts. It was unfortunate though that she referred us directly to Professor Hauxwell with any further questions.
Further research revealed that those involved were appropriately dealt with in accordance with the school rules. House Points were deducted from and a month’s detention given to each student involved. Tristan Cale was arrested and is currently awaiting trial to be sent to Azkaban.
It was unfortunate the teachers on hand that broke up the brawl waited too long to intervene. Had they only put a stop to the events a few moments before, maybe Tristan Cale wouldn’t have had the opportunity to stab Warren Banks with a knife. Maybe if Professor Hauxwell had attended the Ball personally none of this would have happened. When she took on the roll of Headmistress, she was made aware of the responsibilities that came along with this job. Is it possible that she’s lost control over what’s going on at the school? Do they need a new Headmaster or new Headmistress in her place?
